Linguistics and Grammar Teaching

BESSIE MITSIKOPOULOU

Bessie Mitsikopoulou is Professor at the Department of English Language and Literature, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Director of the Center for Self-Access Learning and Materials Development. Her research interests include critical discourse analysis, educational linguistics, digital technologies in language education, digital and multimodal literacies, and language education of vulnerable groups. She has been academic co-ordinator for major projects of the Greek Ministry of Education related to digital media in foreign language education, including Advanced ICT Teacher Training, Digital School I and II and Aesop: The Digital Educational Scenarios Platform. She has also co-ordinated projects related to the State Certificate of Language Proficiency (KPG), including connecting KPG with formal education and the KPG e-school initiative, as well as language education programs for adult refugees.
