Linguistics and Grammar Teaching

AIM

The aim of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory "Linguistics and Grammar Teaching" is to cover basic research and teaching needs in undergraduate and postgraduate/doctoral level of the collaborating Departments in the scientific field of Linguistics, the promotion of linguistic research and the application of linguistic findings in education.

In particular, it aims to highlight the role of Theoretical Linguistics in the teaching of the mother tongue and the foreign language, in the description of Grammar and the Teaching of Grammar in the Greek educational system (Primary and Secondary Education), relating the foreign languages to the mother tongue. It utilizes the findings of the comparative analysis of languages in Theoretical Linguistics and explores how they can be applied in the teaching practice to develop the linguistic competence and awareness as well as the critical literacy of students.
